JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Manager for Random Acts manages and disburses funds for all financial operations for the organization, ensuring quality, and that all financial regulations are met. Reporting to the Director of Operations, and working as part of the Leadership Team, the Finance Manager supports the Director of Operations in ensuring the organization’s funds are secure and well spent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain spreadsheets, databases, and records of financial transactions for the organization.
  • Responsible for ensuring all donors receive receipts for their transactions, either manually or electronically
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial transaction records
  • Provide payment to vendors, volunteers, and program/event recipients as necessary
  • Balance bank deposits when required
  • Perform transactions from Random Acts PayPal account
  • Aid in the preparation of monthly and annual budgets
  • Keep the Executive Team informed of significant problems that jeopardize the well-being of the organization
  • Attend regular leadership and team meetings
  • Other duties as requested by the Director of Operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organized and detail oriented
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, QuickBooks Desktop and Online, and other financial software
  • Deadline-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1 – 3 years of experience performing financial operations 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant certification
