Dog with Random Acts donationsAlready excited for Creation Entertainment’s latest Supernatural Official Convention in Nashville, TN? We definitely are — Random Acts will be at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel for the whole #NashCon weekend and we can’t wait to see you there!

From Friday April 13th through Sunday April 15th, Development Officer Maria Christian will be staffing the Random Acts table in the vendors’ room. As well as running fun-filled polls and Supernatural-themed fundraisers, we’ve also teamed up with a wonderful non-profit to #GetKind in Nashville.

This time around, we’ve partnered with Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary (OFSDS), based around a 30-minute drive from Nashville in Mt. Juliet, TN. This shelter takes in senior dogs and gives them a place to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and happiness. According to its official website, Old Friends houses “approximately 120 senior dogs at the Sanctuary and others in temporary and Forever Foster Homes.”

On top of providing a lifetime home for older dogs to enjoy their retirement, they also strive to raise awareness of the needs of senior dogs. OFSDS says, “We do not concern ourselves with the quantity of time that they have left, rather the quality of the life that we can provide them for that time.”

How can I help?

We’ll be collecting items from the Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary wishlist all weekend. Simply bring your items to the Random Acts table in the vendors’ room:

  • Paper towels
  • Leashes (not collars or harnesses)
  • Dawn dish washing detergent
  • Anti-bacterial hand soap (individual ready-to-use bottles)
  • Canned dog food
  • Dog beds
  • Heavy duty trash bag, 42-gallon capacity
  • Our Pets Durapet dog bowl
  • Febreze air freshener, “Meadows & Rain” scent
  • Double-door folding metal dog crate
  • Drymate dog whelping liner 48×50
  • Lysol laundry sanitizer additive, 0% bleach, “Crisp Linen” scent
  • Clorox disinfecting wipes
  • Incontinence bed pads
  • Waterproof mattress protector
  • Washable reusable underpad
  • 3M multi-use duct tape
  • Milo’s Kitchen chicken meatballs dog treat
  • NOW Foods psyllium husk powder
  • Island Fresh superior organic virgin coconut oil

What if I can’t bring anything to Nashville?

That’s not a problem! If you don’t have enough space to squeeze items into your suitcase, you could always shop for supplies near the hotel, or order directly from the shelter’s Amazon Wishlist. Old Friends is also grateful for any monetary donations — they estimate that each dog’s care costs around $1500 per year.

Help! I can’t afford to donate
