Random Acts pens and pins

Random Acts is headed to Seattle, Washington for Creation Entertainment’s latest Supernatural Official Convention and we can’t wait to see you there!

Regional Representative Jessica Parker and Development Assistant Hope Bixby are packing their bags ahead of their visit to the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, where you’ll find them in the vendors room from March 23—25.

As well as hanging out and answering your questions about Random Acts, they’re also teaming up with a local cause to #GetKind. Once again we’re partnering with our friends over at Lydia Place — you may remember them from last year’s #IWishForThis campaign.

About Lydia Place

Based in Bellingham, WA, this non-profit provides a range of support services for homeless women and children in Whatcom County. According to its official website, Lydia Place’s mission is “to disrupt the cycle of homelessness and promote sustained independence for current and future generations.” It does this through a variety of programs, from transitional housing to legal advocacy and ongoing parental support services.

How You Can Help

Jessica and Hope will be collecting donations of the following much-needed items, as requested by Lydia Place:

  • Gift Cards: Amazon, Target, Fred Meyer, Walmart
  • Home Essentials: New pillows, sponges, can openers, kitchen towels
  • Baby Items: Diapers (sizes 3—6, pull-ups), wipes, formula, baby food pouches
  • Books: Board books and social emotional/learning/classics (0—5 years)

You can drop your donations at the Random Acts table in the vendors room at any time during the #SeaCon weekend. Please bear in mind that all items must be new and unopened. Financial donations are also very welcome, in the form of visa gift cards or checks (payable to Lidia Place).

How Else Can I #GetKind At The Convention?

If you can’t bring a donation to the convention, not to worry: there are still plenty of other ways to get involved! Staffers Jessica and Hope will be inviting supporters to get creative at the Random Acts table and make their very own kindness cards. Once your masterpiece is complete, it’ll be sent anonymously to someone else, and you’ll receive a card from somebody in return!

What If I Can’t Be There In Washington?

Not to worry. Even if you can’t make it to Washington, you can follow our staffers on Twitter for all the latest updates over the convention weekend. You can also #GetKind wherever you are by making an online donation to Lydia Place, or honor their work by volunteering at a similar program in your local community. Whatever you choose to do, don’t forget to share your story with us on social media!
