Staggering fundraising totals and generous support this past year helped Random Acts achieve a number of goals large and small, from our soon-to-be-announced destination project to our holiday giving challenge, the 12 Days of Kindness.
In total (and with your help), we were able to fund over $47,000 in supporter and staff acts — like coffee handouts for strangers at a local cafe or larger grants like the purchase of lab and medical supplies for a New York based Wolf Conservation Center — and we are so proud to be a part of all the beautiful ways you #GetKind in your neighborhoods on a daily basis.
As we broach a new year full of endless potential and possibility, we wanted to gift you with a look back over 2014 in the hopes that it will inspire further acts of kindness (on your part and ours) for the coming months:
We’ve said it a few times already in recent days, but we feel that it bears repeating: you matter. Your generosity matters. 2014 was not an easy year for many around the world — but you made a difference in the lives of so many, whether you know it or not. During our Endure4Kindness challenge alone, you assisted us in raising our final tally to $57,000 — and you’ve stunned us once more with your generosity during our ongoing Crowdrise Giving Challenge, by helping us raise an additional $18,000 (and rising).
Throughout our convention season, you made a huge impact on others’ lives as well by donating box upon box of school supplies, non-perishables, and personal items for families and individuals suffering through hard times — you even gave of your own spending money for the weekend so that others might be able to eat… and we were speechless.
Although our staff is smaller than most, we can’t help but feel a deep, unbreakable connection to those of you who have assisted us in our mission over the past 12 months. You have given us personal inspiration to be better, and for that we can never repay you.
No matter what the coming months hold in store for us, we are certain of one thing: this world is changing for the better because of you — and isn’t that all that really matters?
— The Staff of Random Acts
