The team at Random Acts (and our friends at Creation Entertainment) bring you A Feast of Kindness, a Thanksgiving food drive being held at the Salute to Supernatural Toronto Convention, October 12.

In honor of Thanksgiving (and our first time partnering with Creation to bring Random Acts to a Canadian convention!) we are holding a food drive.  We’ll be collecting items for the largest provider of emergency food relief in the Greater Toronto Area, the Daily Bread Food Bank.

A leader in the fight against hunger, Daily Bread provides food and resources for an average of 63,000 visits a month through 170 community agencies and over 200 food programs. Their agencies run neighborhood food banks and meal programs where people can access prepared meals such as soups or casseroles.

“Daily Bread’s Thanksgiving Drive ends October 19, and its events like this that will help us reach our goal of 200,000 pounds of food,” says Gail Nyberg, executive director of Daily Bread. “People needing a food bank could be anyone; they could be a friend, a neighbor or even a co-worker who is silently struggling to feed their families. We can help them, but we can’t do it without you.”

The most needed grocery items include:

  • Stews and soups
  • Canned fruits and veggies
  • Tomato sauce
  • Dried pasta and rice
  • Canned fish/meat
  • Peanut butter
  • Powdered milk and
  • Baby formula/food.

Please bring non-perishable items only!

And … convention attendees who contribute will have the chance to win some Random Acts swag!

So in the spirit of Thanksgiving, and sharing a bit of your good fortune with your fellow man, we hope you will bring some goodies for Daily Bread.  See you at Salute to Supernatural!
