Changing the world one random act of kindness at a time.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Random Acts is celebrating in style! This holiday season, each staff member had $150 to put towards an #RAHolidayKindness act of their choice. Although we encourage spreading kindness all year long, the holiday season is an extra special time to focus on sharing our love, time, and resources with others. We had so much fun making holiday magic happen. It only makes sense to spread the cheer with a blog series telling you all about our staff holiday acts! Let’s see what the Random Acts elves have been up to…

holiday kindness cupcakesWhile the holidays are a time for celebration, they can also be a source of stress. And that sometimes means short tempers and lack of patience instead of kindness and goodwill. Events Assistant Coordinator Bea Arbeiter and her mum spent some time this holiday putting together small gifts of appreciation for the people we often take for granted — bus drivers, shop assistants, and various other assistants we encounter in our daily lives. They made gift bags filled with symbols of warmth and cheer: a tiny cake, Christmas tea, a small candle, hot chocolate, a sugar stick, and a handwritten card.

Christmas cardBea reports that the recipients were very surprised to get a gift in the middle of such a busy time! But she liked being able to share some kindness and remind them that they are seen and appreciated. That way everyone can feel the joys of the season!

We encourage you to spread a little holiday magic of your own! And stay tuned because we’re far from finished ourselves — there’s a lot more #RAHolidayKindness still to come!
