Strategic Marketing Manager
Julie joined Random Acts in August 2015 as a social media officer. She discovered the organization via Twitter and consequently received funding for her own act to create hygiene and feminine hygiene kits for the homeless. She saw the opportunity to pay kindness forward amplified and threw her hat in the ring.
Julie earned her Bachelor of Arts in business communications. She has lived a million lifetimes including as a post-secondary textbook editor, freelance reporter, and marketing strategist. She is now wading through the murky waters of search engine optimization. During her time with the Random Acts family, Julie and her husband have started their own family cheekily referred to as #RAMarketingBaby and #RASocialMediaBaby.
If Julie could have any superpower, she would have the power of persuasion to convince #RAMarketingBaby to eat veggies and #RASocialMediaBaby to sleep through the night.

Organizational Data Analyst
Carmen traded a career as an aerospace and defense software engineer working on projects like the Space Shuttle program for the opportunity to pursue her dreams.
She is a passionate creative who loves the arts and is a subject matter expert in data-driven digital marketing (focusing on web, social media and email campaigns). She lives at the intersection of art and science where she enjoys bringing those unique skills to all of her projects.
The flexibility of operating her own successful digital marketing consulting firm offered Carmen the opportunity to pursue her deepest passion – to serve her community and volunteer so that others could live better lives. Since February 2020, she has been serving as Random Act’s Organizational Data Analyst and contributing toward their digital marketing strategy.
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines! Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover!” – H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Christina joined Random Acts in 2018. When she’s not busy with PR work, she is studying for her PhD in hydrological modeling in the Cambodian Mekong delta. In her free time, she’s preferably burrowed in mountains of books or writing herself.
Working at Random Acts is a way for her to carry joy and a spirit of kindness and community out into the world. While working and traveling abroad, she realized that kindness is a universal language. By sharing and promoting Random Acts’ mission, she hopes she can amplify this message.
If Christina could have any superpower, she would choose the ability to time travel. Strolling through ancient Rome, seeing Hamlet’s world-premiere, and hanging out with Oscar Wilde would all be on the table, as would doubling the prep time for exams and extending deadlines for papers.
There is a tide in the affairs of men. Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune; Omitted, all the voyage of their life. Is bound in shallows and in miseries. – Shakespeare – Julius Caesar, IV-III.
